Cruise passengers have inadequate insurance

All Clear Travel Insurance

More than a third of cruise passengers have inadequate insurance for their trip, says All Clear.

It estimates that one in three cruise passengers have policies that do not provide any or enough cover them for illness at sea or the cancellation of shore excursions.

Chris Blackman at All Clear says, “A surprising number of people seem to rely on the basic medical provision on board ships. In all but fairly minor emergencies, this will not be sufficient. If you are taken ill on board and need to be airlifted to shore, without insurance you will end up paying for it.”

Many insurance policies do not cover the cancellation of a shore excursion due to ill health or missed ports due to weather or a changed itinerary.
