Spire Healthcare completes rebranding of Classic Hospitals

Spire Healthcare logo
Spire Healthcare has confirmed that the rebranding of the ten recently purchased Classic Hospitals has now been completed.

Spire purchased the Classic hospital group from LGV Capital in February 2008 for £145 million.

The acquisition was cleared by the Office of Fair Trading, which concluded that it would not present any competition issues at a national or local level.

From now on, all of the hospitals will be known as Spire Hospitals, including the Spire Elland Hospital in west Yorkshire.

Hospital director Chris Harrison told the Halifax Evening Courier that the rebranding represents "a great opportunity to develop the business and offer more services to more people".

He added: "Although the name on the door has changed, our commitment to deliver excellent service and clinical expertise has not."

Spire Healthcare itself is a relatively new company, formed in 2007 from the sale of Bupa Hospitals to private equity company Cinven.
