A
non-surgical cosmetic procedure could soon be used by many women as an alternative to
breast implants, it has been claimed.
According to Dr Nick Milojevic, a botox specialist at the
Harley Medical Group, the procedure will soon be available at the group's clinics.
In an interview with the Independent, he described Macrolane - an injectable temporary filler suitable for the purpose - as "one of the most exciting things to happen in aesthetic medicine in years".
"It is made from hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the skin," the cosmetic surgery expert revealed.
"Japanese surgeons have been using it for years to fill the breasts with great results."
Macrolane has also recently been introduced as a non-surgical breast augmentation technique at cosmetic surgery company SurgiCare.
Non-surgical director Jonquille Chantrey revealed: "It's a very effective and safe treatment which costs around £3,000, with a top up usually required every 12 months."
