Newcastle has emerged as the city with the most
cosmetic surgery operations, according to a data crunch of 400,000 postcodes of patients.
The Harley Medical Group, the UK's largest cosmetic surgery company, carried out the research to identify the best locations to open its next five clinics.
It found that Newcastle came out on top of the UK's Cosmetic Surgery Postcode Charts, followed by London and Essex.
Bristol, Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester also emerged as cosmetic surgery hotspots.
Liz Dale, director of the Harley Medical Group, commented: "The data team started to see very strong cosmetic surgery postcode trends appear - with patients happily travelling up to three hours to their nearest clinic.
"Postcodes can now be seen as a clear indicator as to how likely someone is to have cosmetic surgery, and even where there is an increased likelihood towards certain procedures."
With regard to individual procedures, breast augmentations were popular in Newcastle and Bristol, botox injections in London, and laser hair removal in Brighton - particularly among male patients.
