Almost three quarters of holidaymakers are planning to buy annual travel insurance within the next year, says new research
69% of travellers will take out annual travel insurance over the next 12 months, while 85% of holidaymakers are planning to take out some kind of travel insurance.
American Express Insurance Services has encouraged more Britons to consider taking out an annual travel insurance policy as it provides lower costs for those going away more than once a year. Even those who only plan to take one holiday a year may find themselves taking the odd weekend break, trips where travel insurance is also an advisable purchase.
Chris Rolland of American Express Insurance Services says, "With so many cheap flights and last minute holiday deals available to Britons, taking a mini-break is all the more appealing. If people are planning to go away more than once this year, it is far more cost effective to buy an annual insurance policy than numerous single trip products, giving them peace of mind all year round".
