Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer Scotland are poised for a head start as Bupa's newly-appointed nominated charities for the 2009 Bupa Great Run Series - which includes the world's largest half-marathon, the Bupa Great North Run.
The partnership could see the charities net up to £1 million from the fundraising efforts of more than 300 dedicated runners.
Jo Swinhoe of the Alzheimer's Society, says: "We are delighted to be the nominated charity for the 2009 Bupa Great Run Series. Alzheimer's Society needs to raise money to care for people today and to find a cure for tomorrow. Every Alzheimer's Society runner will help us take great strides forward in our fight against dementia. We hope this partnership will be a runaway success."
