Tesco launched health insurance in January and as a special offer to mark the launch of Tesco Health Insurance Finest Cover, it guarantees to cut premiums for customers who already have health insurance with Bupa, Standard Life Healthcare and Norwich Union Healthcare.
The offer does not apply to AXA PPP healthcare customers, as that company is the insurer for Tesco Health.
Until 16 October, Tesco is offering those customers a guarantee that they can reduce their annual premium by 20% for a similar level of cover if they switch to Tesco Health Insurance. Customers wishing to move to Tesco Health Insurance simply give details of their current insurance, including the name of the insurer, the name of the plan and the premium price.
Tesco Finest Cover
To support the offer, Tesco has launched an additional level of health insurance cover. Finest Cover is their most comprehensive level of cover, and includes cancer treatment for up to three years; treatment for pregnancy complications and a private hospital transport service. There is no annual maximum cover on in-patient and outpatient treatment.
Jeremy Sutton, for Tesco Personal Finance, says: “ Tesco entered the private medical insurance market to encourage more people to look at PMI by offering straightforward products at prices which offer good value. We have price-checked and found we were cheaper than other providers for eight out of ten people. Customers could save as much as £252 per year with Core Cover and £336 for Premium Cover. We are pleased this research proves we can offer genuine savings and urge anyone considering buying this type of cover to shop around.”
As with Tesco Core Cover and Tesco Premium Cover, launched earlier this year, no medical examination is necessary for customers buying Tesco Finest Cover.
