Insurer Scottish Widows is preparing to launch a new menu based protection product.
It will offer one policy with a variety of options.
Covers are almost certain to include life assurance, income protection , critical illness, and pension term assurance.
During 2006 it will be tested by sister company LloydsTSB Bank ,with a full launch by 2007.
Key components of the plan include freedom of choice and simplicity.
