Royal College of Nursing warning on NHS crisis

Commenting on the Royal College of Nursing warning that the NHS is heading for crisis point with 56,058 NHS positions across the UK due to be cut, Debbie Kleiner-Gaines from the Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries says, “There are already real concerns over growing NHS waiting lists with some hospitals delaying non-life threatening surgery to save money, but when you hear the nurses highlight the severe cut in frontline nursing jobs this will not only have a further worsening impact on those waiting lists but potentially the quality of patient care as a whole.”

She adds, “For those thinking private healthcare would now be a preferable option if and when they need treatment rather than the NHS, private health insurance could be a consideration."
