Bupa Health Assurance has added what it claims is unique to the market. It now offers a partial payment to those waiting for an NHS operation. It has also added more conditions to its critical illness cover.
The insurer will pay 25% of benefit or £25,000 (whichever is lower) directly into a bank account if you are waiting for aorta graft surgery, coronary artery by-pass grafts, heart valve replacement or repair or open- heart surgery.
The additional conditions include severe Crohn's disease and benign spinal cord tumour.
