The past five years have seen an increase in demand for facelift surgery, but smaller procedures such as cosmetic eyelid surgery have proved even more popular, experts have revealed.
While the number of full facelifts performed by The Hospital Group has risen by 61 per cent, upper and lower eyelid surgeries have increased by 62 per cent and 85 per cent respectively.
A full facelift can enhance the appearance of people with age-related wrinkles, jowls or sagging skin on the face and neck.
However, for many people the eyes bear the brunt of the ageing process and eyelid surgery alone can make them look more youthful.
"Many of our patients come to us thinking they want a facelift, however after having a consultation with the cosmetic surgeon they realise eye surgery is more appropriate for their surgical needs," a spokesperson for the Hospital Group explained.
The Hospital Group is one of the UK's leading providers of cosmetic surgery, obesity surgery, hair transplantation, non-surgical cosmetic treatments and cosmetic dentistry.
