International private medical insurer InterGlobal has launched two new international private medical insurance plans for the African market. Both plans provide cover for expatriates and international travellers in Africa.
The new InterGlobal Africa Plans are available either as individual or group schemes and offer two levels of cover. The Africa UltraCare Standard Plan provides comprehensive cover against the cost of inpatient medical treatment while members of the Africa UltraCare Select Plan also benefit from their choice of two levels of maternity cover, inclusive eye examinations and cover for AIDS/HIV treatment without the standard four year waiting period. Both plans also provide access to emergency medical evacuation and red24 AdviceLine for 24/7 personal security advice.
Members can choose from two geographic levels of cover. The Africa and Jordan cover is designed for members who only require cover on the African continent, while area 5 cover also covers Europe, the Middle East, Indian sub-continent and the Philippines for members who expect to travel more widely.
Edward Daniels of InterGlobal, says, “ Interglobal is already well established as a provider of International PMI on the African continent and recognises that expatriates and international travellers have particular needs which are not catered for by traditional plans. By offering cover tailored for the African continent, we are able to reduce the cost for members. In addition, with HIV/AIDS being a fact of life in much of sub-Saharan Africa we have recognised that this is a genuine concern to many in the region.”
