As cruising becomes increasingly popular, passenger shipping line P&O Cruises encourages customers to arrange travel insurance when placing a deposit on one of its trips, "Do not base your insurance decision on the assumption that it will not happen to me, accidents do happen."
Some cruises, such as coastal Australian routes, require international travel insurance to be in place.
Passengers who plan to take part in water-related activities should check that their travel insurance policy protects them for whatever pursuits they choose-including parasailing and scuba diving.
P&O Cruises operates routes in 11 countries, with 50 different destinations for its liners around the world.
