Leeds private hospital offers new liposuction treatment

Body jet
A private hospital in the Leeds area has confirmed that it is now offering a sophisticated new form of liposuction to help patients lose unwanted fat.

Spire Leeds Hospital is now offering a procedure called Body Jet, in which a small incision is made in the patient's skin following a local anaesthetic.

A jet of water is then sprayed beneath the skin to loosen fat cells, and these are sucked away through the incision.

The new technique means that patients can achieve the sculpted appearance they desire within a matter of hours, and often with no overnight stay required.

Professor Simon Kay, who carries out the new cosmetic surgery procedure, commented: "Body Jet offers patients some big advantages. It is much more precise, involves less scarring and results in a faster recovery than traditional liposuction techniques."

He revealed that the liposuction technique can be used on a range of body areas, including the hips, thighs, buttocks, arms and chin.

Spire Healthcare was formed in 2007 following the sale of Bupa Hospitals to private equity company Cinven.
