Cosmetic dentist launches free dental imaging software

Credit crunch fuels more natural tooth whitening
A cosmetic dentist on the Isle of Wight has launched new dental imaging software which allows visitors to the practice's website to see how they would look after treatments.

Patients can go onto the Avenue Road Dental Practice website, post a full-face photo of themselves, and then play around with their teeth to seek what cosmetic dentistry could do for their appearance.

Philip Lewis, a dentist at the practice, explained: "This software will give those considering cosmetic dentistry an idea of what it can do and the possible results.

"Although it isn't an exact guarantee of the outcome, it gives a general idea and image for the person to consider."

The private dental practice offers a range of cosmetic and general dentistry procedures, including veneers, crowns and bridges, inlays, full dentures and the new 'Snap-On Smile', which allows patients to improve the appearance of their smile without having lots of dental treatment.

It is one of the first dental practices in the UK to offer the Easy Smile software on its website.
