There are a total of thirty questions and respondents can challenge up to three friends in order to compare scores. After the campaign is complete they will receive an email showing how their scores measure up to those from the rest of the UK.

There is also an option to click-through for a 30-day free trial of Norwich Union’s Personal Health Manager or a quote for private health insurance.

Health-conscious celebrities including Nell McAndrew and Celebrity Fit Club's Harvey Walden have already shown their support by completing the assessment.

Matt Wright e-Customer Manager at Norwich Union Healthcare explains, ‘We want to see how much people know about their own health then collect as many results as possible from all over the country.  We will then be able to compare the results by gender, region, age and occupation, which will be displayed in graphs on the site.  We’ll be publicising the results at a later date.’

With simple, multi-choice questions this survey should be fun to complete and pass on.  It is designed to appeal to all audiences across the UK, not just people interested in health and fitness, to generate results which represent the state of the nation’s medical knowledge.

A Question Of Health combines questions on different aspects of healthcare, from anatomy and illnesses to fitness and first aid.  Participants will be classified according to their final score across 30 multiple-choice questions, with categories titled Diet & Fitness, Anatomy, Medicine & drugs, Symptoms & Illnesses and First Aid.

The website provides the correct answers and assesses whether respondents are a ‘Health Hazard’ or ‘Medical Marvel or somewhere between the two.  This personal health manager tool includes an interactive symptom assessor, a personal health planner and a medical encyclopedia and is available free to all Norwich Union Healthcare customers.

Dr Doug Wright, for Norwich Union Healthcare, says: “According to GPs, in over a quarter of their consultations the patient did not actually need to see a doctor.  We've developed this unique quiz to help give people a better idea of the extent of their health knowledge and also to show them that, by educating themselves and using the tools available to them, they can manage their health more effectively.”
