NFU Mutual opens new branches

Rural insurer NFU Mutual has opened two more offices with a third on the way as part of a drive to expand into areas of business outside agriculture.

These new offices, which have been opened over the last six months, form part of the insurer’s agency development programme - an initiative designed to build its network of local offices and encourage more customers through their doors.

NFU Mutual’s agency development programme director, Chris Roberts, says: “Over the last decade successful expansion outside agriculture has enabled NFU Mutual to continue growing substantially and at a time when many local offices are being closed, we are delighted to be bucking the trend and increasing our network of offices. Many of our customers feel that dealing face to face with a local office is more tailored to suit their insurance requirements. Our new offices are offering more people the chance to benefit from this personal service.”

In 2007 NFU Mutual opened two new offices in Battle, East Sussex and Newry in Northern Ireland. In 2008, it has already opened offices in Aberdeen and Oxford. Another office is due to open in Southport next month. By the end of 2010 NFU Mutual aims to have an additional 36 offices in place.

NFU Mutual only deals direct with customers.
