A new dental implant system could make the procedure more accessible as the cost has been lowered.
Dr Simon Darfoor is offering the treatment in the UK at his dental centres in Harley Street and Kent.
The implants make use of technology developed by Swiss corporation Euroteknika, which allow an implant complete with a porcelain crown to be fitted for just £1,300.
Dr Darfoor commented: "The launch of the Euroteknika system is indeed a wonderful development as it will open up the benefits of implants over dentures to so many more people.
"Although the system is relatively new to this country it has been used for many years in mainland Europe and has a solid track record for reliability that is every bit as good as any of the rival systems."
Implants are not offered on the NHS which, the doctor claims, has resulted in a growing number of Britons travelling overseas to have the work done.
However, the new system could offer people in the UK the benefit of having secure, natural-looking teeth for less.
What's better? Private or NHS healthcare?
