More men opting for botox

Botox treatment is clearly not just a female trend, as a growing number of men are turning to injections to iron out their fine lines and wrinkles, experts have revealed.

According to cosmetic surgeons, the number of men choosing to have botox has risen by nearly a third over the last 12 months in some private clinics as men attempt to hold back the visible signs of ageing.

Alan Booth, 44, told the Daily Mail that he has had botox on his forehead, as well as treatment to plump up his lips.

Mr Booth, who visits London Plastic Surgery Associates, revealed: "Over the last few years I've known many friends who have had botox and filler injections and I always admired the results.

"Seeing them growing younger-looking over time gave me the incentive to join in the quest to maintain my looks as well."

Mr Booth said that the treatments were "very subtle" and that friends noticed him looking refreshed afterwards.

"It is definitely something that I will continue to maintain," he added.

According to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (Baaps), botox is now the most popular aesthetic treatment and many patients go on to have more invasive cosmetic surgery in the future.
