Swiss Post International (UK) has been awarded a Simplyhealth healthy workplace award for its continuing commitment to the health and wellbeing of its employees.
The award recognises the contribution that UK organisations, in both the private and public sector, make to the welfare of employees. Winners of the award provide employees with a range of initiatives and benefits that help to keep their workforce motivated and healthy.
The commitment of Swiss Post International (UK) to the health and wellbeing of its employees was successfully demonstrated to the judges by a range of forward-thinking initiatives. These include an employee assistance programme enabling any employee to speak in confidence about a health or other personal issue with any of the management team. The offer of free flu inoculations each year to all 140 employees, as well as free regular eye tests for all VDU users. A number of employees take part in a 10 mile race each year in Switzerland, and employees are encouraged to participate in runs, bike rides and other charity events. Employees are also encouraged to eat healthily and there are plans to introduce free fruit days. Health initiatives have also helped to reduce employee absence by over 60% in the last couple of years. Employees are also supported with back to work programmes where there has been long-term absence.
