Bupa logo

Bupa has created a unique alternative to health insurance. Bupa Patient Cash offers a number of the usual benefits associated with health insurance, but in the form of a low-cost cash plan to help people get prompt diagnosis and treatment from as little as £11.70 per month.

Emma Exelby for Bupa says, "Having listened to our customers, we have designed a product that gives people access to consultants as early as possible so that they can quickly find out what is wrong and get the right treatment as quickly as possible, all at an affordable price."

It offers three levels of cover including up to £600 a year for consultations, up to £2,000 a year for in-patient hospital stays and up to £400 a year for day patient surgery in a hospital.  Cover of up to £600 a year is also available for physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic or homoeopathy. All levels of cover include 24-hour access to Bupa's nurse helpline that offers information and advice about any healthcare matter.
