PruHealth, the innovative private health insurer, has announced three exclusive gym deals with Virgin Active, Cannons and LA Fitness to enable its members to stay fit and healthy with access to top quality gyms.
The deals, which are exclusive for five years, will give PruHealth members nationwide access to almost a third of the total number of dedicated health and fitness clubs in the UK, and three out of the top six gym providers. LA Fitness, PruHealth’s newest gym partner, brings an additional 88 clubs to the gym offering.
With gym membership projected to grow steadily over the next five years, PruHealth is keen to participate by encouraging more regular exercise amongst its members.
There is an obvious link between private medical insurers, like PruHealth, and gyms, as those who use gyms on a regular basis are more likely to be healthy individuals and less likely to claim. By engaging with PruHealth’s Vitality scheme, which rewards members for looking after their health and wellbeing, every visit to the gym enables members to accrue Vitality points, which in turn go towards a Vitality status.
Policyholders earn points for engaging in healthy activities and depending on how many points they earn - and whether they make any claims - PruHealth could give them 25, 50, 75 or even 100 per cent of the cost of their current year's cover off their renewal premium.
