Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, has set up a temporary health insurance policy committee to draw up a plan for health insurance in the emirate.
The committee, chaired by Ahmad Bin Byat, Secretary General of the council, is tasked with drawing up strategies and plans to implement the scheme for UAE nationals, expatriates and visitors.
The committee's strategic plan includes setting standards, regulations and conditions for insurance companies to provide health insurance services in the emirate and ensure their compliance with related legislations and rules.
It also specifies rights, advantages and the kind of services to be offered and setting subscription fees.
The committee will lay down rules, standards and procedures to settle disputes that may arise.
