Newlife, a fertility centre in Epsom founded in 2011 by
some of the UK’s leading gynaecologists has launched a new service this month,
a ‘One-Stop Fertility Assessment’, to help couples who are struggling to
conceive. This is the first time that such a service has been available
in Surrey and it is hoped that it will help to eliminate some of the heartache
and cost of the current process.
Many men and women who are
experiencing subfertility issues have to endure months, if not years, of pain
trying to understand the underlying cause of their problem – which Newlife
believes is precious time in terms of fertility. This new service aims to
take out some of the pain and stress of the existing process by offering
couples a fast-track with a unique ‘fertility assessment’ overseen by leading
gynaecologist Mr Amin Gafar and supported by male infertility expert Mr Stephen
Gordon. As the process is more efficient, it also cuts down costs by
avoiding lengthy delays, clinical tests and hospital visits.
The assessment (package price £400
for a couple £350 for female only) itself is a thorough outpatient service that
investigates the fertility of both partners. They are each required to
undergo a series of tests before the consultation meeting including blood
tests, hormone levels, assessment of the ovarian reserves, as well as semen
analysis.
The comprehensive assessment will
also include a full review of the patients’ medical history as well as
lifestyle and environmental factors which could be impacting their ability to
conceive. A diagnosis of the possible causes of infertility will be established
and supported by specialist and expert advice. Whilst the couple will
then be advised to take time to consider the results and possible next steps,
appropriate treatment options will also be recommended within the consultation
package.
Mr Amin Gafar, Consultant
Gynaecologist and Newlife Fertility Centre Director comments: “The aim and
ethos of our offering here at Newlife is to put patient’s wellbeing at the very
core of what we do and offer a world class service. Time and time again I
have seen patients who have wasted their best years, in terms of fertility,
trying to find out and navigate their way through the current system and the
reasons for their inability to conceive. We want to try and
fast-track this process and provide patients with answers and treatment options
quickly and clearly.”
Mr Gafar is supported by a group of eminent
obstetricians and a highly dedicated team of doctors, nurses, midwives,
embryologists, counsellors and complementary therapists. This team share
the common goal of achieving the highest success rates, and are able to offer
full services in women’s health with cutting edge technology alongside
informative and sensitive counselling.
