Dental price increases will boost value of health cash plans

Medicash logo

Health cash plans from Medicash are expected to see a boost in popularity following the latest price increases for NHS dental treatment.

The increases in charges will come into force on 1 April 2012 and will mean that the price for Band 3 treatment covering crowns, dentures and bridges will be as high as £209. Treatment falling into Bands 1 and 2 are increasing to £17.50 and £48 respectively.

Sue Weir of Medicash says, “Previous increases in NHS pricing have generated a rise in the number of health cash plans being taken out so we fully anticipate another such rise to emanate from this change.”
