When people worry about health

PruHealth logo

Thirty-nine is the age that people really start to worry about their health, says PruHealth. One in ten constantly worry about their health and a further four out of ten worry that they are not healthy enough, they are not doing much to improve it.  One in five admit laziness and time pressures are the main barriers to living healthily. For others a love of unhealthy foods gets in the way.

A survey asked people over the age of twenty-five what advice they would give their younger selves. The top five tips were:

1. Don't smoke.

2. Look after your body.

3. Do more exercise.

4. Think about the consequences of your actions.

5. Eating more healthily.

Dr Katherine Tryon at PruHealth says, "People lead busy lives, but there is a big task ahead to encourage people to make health changes now rather than later - prevention rather than cure. We need to stop worrying about our health and start doing something to look after ourselves. At PruHealth our key focus is to help remove barriers to health living and incentivise healthy activities via our Vitality scheme."
