Laser hair removal 'best done in winter'

Winter is a good time for laser hair removal procedures, it has been suggested.

According to an expert from sk:n in Manchester, individuals need to keep strong sunlight away from areas treated with laser hair removal.

The specialist told Manchester Confidential that you could use a strong sun block or cover keep the area covered.

This means that now is "good time of year to start if you want to get ready for the summer".

The professional added that the treatment can help to rebuild some people's self-confidence.

"Facial hair causes quite a lot of psychological problems for ladies," the expert explained.

"They have to shave once or twice a day so their life is changed now they don't have to do that."

While laser hair removal is an effective method of reducing hair growth for people of any colour, it tends not to work very effectively on red, blonde and grey hair.
