Cosmetic surgery procedure chosen by sports star

Breast reduction

A sports star has chosen to undergo a cosmetic surgery procedure in order to boost her performance on court.

Simona Halep, a teenage tennis player, has decided to reduce her breasts from a 34DD down to a 34C in order to tackle the severe back pain she experienced from her large natural breasts.

The 18-year-old Ms Halep commented: "It's the weight that troubles me. My ability to react quickly, my breasts make me uncomfortable when I play."

She added: "I don't like them in my everyday life, either. I would have gone for surgery even if I hadn’t been a sportswoman."

Ms Halep, who is ranked as 114 in the world, is not the first sportswoman to make changes to her breasts for the sake of her sport.

Australia's double world 400m hurdles champion Jana Rawlinson chose to remove her breast implants to increase her chances of winning the 2012 Olympic gold.
