Breast surgery gives new meaning to the phrase nip and tuck

nipple

Breast surgery has undertaken an interesting twist with the news that there has been an upsurge in the number of people undertaking cosmetic surgery on their nipples.

The Harley Medical Group has announced that there has been a 30 per cent increase in the rate of people having the procedure over the last 12 months.

Victoria Beckham recently underwent breast reduction surgery and there is much talk of her re-shaped nipples.

Dr Riccardo Frati, a cosmetic surgeon for the Harley Medical Group, told the Daily Mail newspaper: "Until now celebrities didn't expose their nipples so [there] were no 'nipple role models'... Mrs Beckham's designer nipples could be the next big thing for 2009."

He added that women are no longer focused on having big breasts but are more interested in the shape and appearance of their bosom, with a C cup proving the most popular size.

One of the reasons an individual may undergo nipple surgery is due to having an inverted nipple.
