Norwich Union Healthcare welcomes the announcement that the government will review NHS rules which currently restrict patients from "topping up" their treatment privately.
Dr Doug Wright, of Norwich Union Healthcare, said: ‘We are looking forward to sharing our views and experiences in order to develop a healthcare system that is better placed to deliver the best outcomes for patients. The issue of 'topping up' has risen up the agenda because patients want greater flexibility within the healthcare system to buy drug treatment privately, where there is restriction on the NHS. There is a need to create a system which works in the best interests of patients, and allows the NHS and private sector to partner effectively to treat them."
