Cosmetic surgery now available for feet

Feet
Britons have become accustomed to people undergoing cosmetic surgery to enhance their facial features, breasts or waistline, but the latest procedure to grab consumers' attention is cosmetic foot surgery, reports suggest.

Cosmetic surgeons reveal that a growing number of patients are asking for surgery on their feet, not only to correct medical conditions such as bunions, but also to make the feet more attractive by adjusting the length of individual toes.

Dr Oliver Zong, a surgeon at NYC Footcare in the US, told the Times that people are becoming obsessed with their feet.

"The complete foot makeover incorporating bunion procedure, pinky bunion procedure and any and all toe procedures are all performed at the same time to completely remake your feet," Dr Zong revealed.

The surgeon said that some patients want 'toe tucks' to reduce the size of their toes, while others request collagen injections into the footpad to make high heeled shoes more comfortable.

Cosmetic foot surgery will soon be the latest type of cosmetic procedure to be featured on television, with an ITV documentary due to feature the procedure on June 21st.
