An expert has suggested that cosmetic dentistry can provide a significant confidence boost as well as a more impressive smile and advised those unhappy with their teeth to approach a professional with their worries.
Dr Pravesh Solanki of cosmeticdentistryguide.co.uk noted that braces have become increasingly common in recent years, with famous figures including the Duchess of Cambridge making use of modern alternatives.
"[Patients should] visit informational websites and educate themselves about the options available to them and then visit a cosmetic dentist for a consultation to discuss their concerns," he commented.
Tooth whitening was recommended to those unhappy with stained and yellow dentures, while Dr Solanki also suggested the public image of braces had changed in part because of the number of new options which have emerged.
Earlier this week, British Dental Health Foundation chief executive Dr Nigel Carter expressed concern about awareness of oral health issues in the UK and said doctors should provide individuals with relevant information where necessary.
