Hendon hospital launches new dedicated physiotherapy department

BMI The Garden Hospital physiotherapy team

BMI The Garden Hospital has today officially announced the launch of a new dedicated physiotherapy department. The new unit offers treatments and dedicated facilities for a wide range of conditions from common back pain to more complex post-trauma rehabilitation and is expected to serve more than 4,000 patients each year. 


The physiotherapy team, who will be located at The Garden Hospital, have been treating patients in the local community for over 20 years and are relocating from their previous home at Chase Lodge Hospital in Mill Hill, north-west London. The established four-person team mainly focuses on musculoskeletal therapy, including back pain, sports injuries, headaches, post-surgical rehabilitation, male and female incontinence as well as women’s health issues including pelvic pain, antenatal and postnatal care. The treatments available at the new unit include will include manual therapy, Pilates, muscle balance, traction and exercise prescription. The team also offers acupuncture to treat an array of conditions such chronic back pain and arthritis.


Speaking on the move to the new facilities BMI The Garden Physiotherapy Manager Nicky Bhatt commented: “We are delighted to open the doors of our new physiotherapy department to the local community and look forward to welcoming established and new patients in the upcoming months. Our years of experience combined with the new facilities available to us at The Garden Hospital will allow us to continue improving the level of care and clinical excellence available to our patients while also improving the environment in which they are treated. The move to The Garden Hospital will allow us to work much closer with the patient’s consultant and medical team speeding up a patient’s recovery time.”
