Taking regular brisk walks could help people to stay trim, a weight loss expert has suggested.
The spokeswoman from Slimming World said that taking 30 minutes of moderate exercise five times a week is enough to keep in shape.
While a heavy gym session could be hard to fit into a busy lifestyle, the representative said that "a brisk walk is something that most people can fit into their routine".
Adults in the UK do not appear to be meeting the suggested targets at the moment.
Research by the British Heart Foundation released earlier this year found that 68 per cent of adults admitted to not taking the recommended 30 minutes of moderate activity.
This latest suggestion of taking a brisk walk whenever possible could help the 44 per cent who said that they were too busy to exercise.
An additional 27 per cent surveyed said that they were kidding themselves on how much exercise they were taking in order to make themselves feel better.
