Six members of the Association of Friendly Societies who offer income protection products have provided statistics that show that 95% of all claims received were treated as valid and paid during 2008.

Of 4,053 claims received in 2008, 139 were in pipeline, 3,721 were judged valid and paid (95% of claims received and assessed), 193 were investigated and considered invalid.
