The Australian private hospital operator Ramsay Health Care
has announced a new programme of investment in the UK.
Following the company's £193 million acquisition of Capio Healthcare's UK hospital portfolio last year, Ramsay has enjoyed a period of growth and is now set to spend over £12 million to increase its theatre space, bed capacity and diagnostic imaging capabilities.
Chris Rex, chief executive officer of Ramsay Health Care, noted that the company's initial UK acquisition was made as a platform for further growth.
"But we have said from the very beginning that our main priority is the existing facilities," he added.
"Ramsay is a progressive company which is happy to invest whenever there is a strong business case."
The latest investment programme will affect Yorkshire Clinic, Bingley; Pinehill Hospital and Rivers Hospital in Hertfordshire; Winfield Hospital in Gloucestershire; and Berkshire Independent Hospital in Reading.
