There has been an increase in the number of women having cosmetic surgery
for their wedding day, a London surgeon has revealed.
Dalia Nield, a consultant plastic surgeon at the London Clinic, told Easier.com that there has been a 50 per cent rise during the lead up to summer.
"We regularly have an increase of around 50 per cent in cosmetic procedures in relation to the winter months, but I'm seeing more and more…women having cosmetic surgery in time for their wedding," said Ms Nield, who is a member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (Baaps) and of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (Bapras).
The cosmetic surgeon said that, while weddings are certainly not the only reason why people opt for surgery, it is often the "catalyst" for women who have been considering a procedure for some time.
She pointed out: "The wedding day is the most important day of a woman's life and every woman wants to look their best. It's the one day all eyes are on you."
