Increased loading for Extended London Upgrade option from 45% to 65%. This increase will apply right across the range of products for individuals and small businesses. Unfortunately, this has been necessary to more accurately reflect the higher costs associated with using the small number of prestigious hospitals on that list. The Countrywide London Upgrade list offers an excellent range of central London hospitals at significantly lower premiums and may well provide a good alternative.
From 1 October 2007 there will be a 3.0% increase for both Values Personal and Values for Business customers.
Also the Guided Option i.e. where the company not the customer decides which hospital treatment is done at, has now added the BMI hospital network to Bupa, Capio and some Nuffield hospitals. This now extends Guided Option coverage to over 100 hospitals nationwide. Guided Option offers a 15% discount over the Countrywide List thanks to the special arrangement with these hospitals. Because they can manage a patient’s treatment from beginning to end, including choosing their consultant, they can make better use of their resources. This translates to lower charges for customers, which means lower premiums.
On most products there is now a wider range of excess options.
