The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) has reminded people that physical activity is a good way to reduce the risk of developing cancer.
According to the group, at least 30 minutes of exercise a day is enough to lower the chances of developing the disease and will also help to improve heart health.
The WCRF also advised people to keep a close eye on their weight.
"There is now convincing evidence that excess body fat is a risk factor for six types of cancer, including breast cancer and bowel cancer. In fact, scientists now say that, after not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight is the most important thing you can do for cancer prevention," the group explained.
Meanwhile, energy-dense foods were flagged up as something to only be consumed on occasion, as were red meats.
Vegetables, fruits, whole grains and pulses, however, should be eaten regularly in order to lower the risk of cancer.
