Cosmetic surgery 'can be only option'

Cosmetic surgery is the only option available for some people, it has been suggested.

Stephen Handisides, managing director of MyFaceMyBody.com, said that other non-surgical options can be "fantastic" in the short-term but that "a lot of the time surgery is the only option".

He explained: "If someone wanted to have dermal fillers in their cheeks that can obviously help raise up the cheek bones in order to reduce the some of the saggy skin that you can get around the chin, but you would need that every six or nine months."

The comments follow research published by Superdrug, which suggested that one in three women over the age of 40 believes that they are in need of cosmetic surgery.

Furthermore, one in give of those would happily go under the surgeon's knife for a facelift if they could afford to do so.

Meanwhile, one in three said that they would like their teeth whitened, while 14 per cent would like a breast augmentation.
