A report from Macmillan Cancer Support reveals that survivors often go on to struggle with other serious illnesses. The charity says that thanks to modern medical techniques five-year survival rates are higher than they have ever been - but that many patients do not appreciate the lasting impact of cancer and its treatment.
Roger Edwards of Bright Grey says, "While doctors can treat the physical effects of illness they cannot provide the critical illness plan to provide much needed money in the event of a serious illness like cancer."
