Women have begun to focus more on achieving a healthy body rather than a
thin one, according to a spokeswoman from Slimming World.
The weight management support network found that women voted Kate Winslet, renowned for her healthy curves, as the perfect celebrity body of 2009.
Voluptuous Kelly Brook came in second place behind Winslet while thin celebrities Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss were relegated to the bottom of the poll.
Dr Jacquie Lavin from Slimming World commented: "It shows a positive shift that women are more likely to see Kate Winslet and Kelly Brook as the ideal body shape rather than Kate Moss or Victoria Beckham and perhaps suggests that it’s not being 'skinny' that's most important to them anymore, it's being healthy".
The survey showed that weight management and body image are still issues to most women with 85 per cent of those surveyed saying they are at least occasionally unhappy with their weight.
