Cosmetic surgery two for one deals questioned

the Good Surgeon Guide

The safety of 'two for one' deals on cosmetic surgery has been questioned.

Following the broadcast of an episode of the One Show which focused on cosmetic surgery, the Goodsurgeonguide.co.uk has recommended that people should carefully consider their choices regarding cosmetic surgery and ensure they choose a respected and trusted surgeon.

Christiana Clogg, managing director of the website, commented: "We are not surprised that the One Show unearthed such bad practise at leading surgery groups in last night's expose, it is one of the reasons why we developed the site, and has lead us now, more than ever, to believe that the whole industry needs regulating."

She added that a lack of official government figures makes it harder to monitor the success rates and complications involved in surgery.

Rather than basing the choice of surgeon on 'saving money', Ms Clogg recommended patients to choose a surgeon based on "experience and the recommendations they receive from others" because you "cannot put a price on good health and a safe procedure".

The BBC's the One Show found that bargain deals on cosmetic surgery can entice people to have more surgery than they intended.
