One of the UK's leading private
cosmetic surgery specialists has witnessed a rise in demand despite the credit crunch.
Bookings for consultations at the Birkdale Clinic in January and February 2009 are up 32 per cent compared to last year as people look for a permanent way to enhance their appearance, Female First reports.
Patient coordinator Marie Jenkins told the news provider that the company has been "amazed" by the increase in consultations.
"Most say that they are more inclined to have treatments done now as a way of boosting their own 'feel good factor' after the Christmas hype is over," she revealed.
"We always warn potential new patients against jeopardising their health in the rush to look fabulous," she added.
The Birkdale Clinic started off life in 1993 as the Birkdale Clinic of Ophthalmology. However, it now offers a wide range of private healthcare, including dental surgery, cosmetic surgery, orthopaedic treatment and general surgery.
