Men choose 'torsoplasty' to improve body

Nulook cosmetic surgery for men

Men are becoming increasingly likely to pay for cosmetic surgery, despite it previously being regarded as a woman's domain.

According to New York cosmetic surgeon Dr Elliot Jacobs, many men are opting for a new surgical procedure that he has named 'torsoplasty'.

"There is a new group of men who are relatively fit but may have a few extra pounds and a few extra bulges that they just can't seem to lose," he told HealthNewsDigest.com.

"In one procedure, I can give them a shape that diet and exercise simply can't give them."

Torsoplasty involves sculpting the chest, reducing the midsection and removing love handles, thereby helping to shape the torso and firm up problem areas from the neck down to the groin.

However, Dr Jacobs warns that the procedure is not a fix for obesity. "They have to be healthy and reasonably fit. It's for those men who want to go from being a little pudgy to trim and buff."
