Harley Medical Group reports rise in breast ops

There has been a rapid increase in the number of people opting to undergo breast augmentation according to a UK cosmetic surgery provider.

The Harley Medical Group has reported that breast implants are the most popular cosmetic surgery procedure for the 20th year in a row - and demand is still growing.

Around £100 million is estimated to have been spent on breast surgery last year and the group has witnessed a 39 per cent rise in the number of women choosing to boost their breast size.

Director Liz Dale said that the figures are indicative of the nation's changing attitudes to cosmetic surgery.

"We have noticed that our patients are more than happy to tell people that they have had surgery and often recommended a particular surgeon to their friends," she revealed.

However, Ms Dale noted that patients must undergo a thorough consultation and check the credentials of their clinic of choice before going under the knife.
