FSA updates on Gender Directive

Insurance regulator FSA has informed insurers that a judgment is expected from the European Court of Justice on 1 March, addressing whether insurance companies are allowed to use gender as a pricing factor in certain circumstances.

FSA does not expect firms to do anything now, or communicate with customers, but it expects firms to have in place plans to react to the judgment and to respond to any customer who asks about it.
