Legal & General's group critical illness cover now also
includes cover for aplastic anaemia, bacterial meningitis, cardiomyopathy,
encephalitis and liver failure. In addition, the survival period has also been
reduced from 30 to 14 days for most illnesses.
The insurer is also increasing the value of support
available to claimants. Their maximum benefit can now be up to five times
scheme earnings or £500,000 whichever is less
Vanessa Sallows at Legal & General says, "Employers and
employees rely on critical illness cover to help them to cope with challenging
circumstances. Expanding the range of illnesses means we can help more people
when they are ill."
