For Benenden Healthcare Society, charities
supported in 2012 will be Action for Children and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Staff chose the two charities through a
democratic process, which means the chosen charities will be the beneficiaries
of any fundraising undertaken by Benenden Healthcare employees in 2012.
Neil Barnes at Benenden Healthcare says, "In 2011, we introduced a new approach to employee fundraising that proved to be
a huge improvement on previous years. The result was that our staff raised over
£3000 in total for last year’s charities of the year, Alzheimer’s Society and
St Leonard’s Hospice. This year we are aiming higher and have already planned a
number of key fundraising activities – especially during the summer where we’ll
enter teams in major local events such as the York Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge
and the Jane Tomlinson York 10K.”
Yorkshire Air Ambulance provides a vital service
to the region yet relies on substantial fundraising to keep it running. Action
for Children makes a real difference to the lives of vulnerable children.
