Women’s basketball team, the City of Sheffield Hatters, have a new sponsor for the next two seasons. The sponsorship deal includes a change to the team’s name - they will now be known as the Health365 Hatters.
The Health365 Hatters beat the Nottingham Wildcats 87-55 in the National Cup Final at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre. The Health365 Hatters, who will celebrate their 50th anniversary this year, were the first women’s basketball team in England and have dominated the sport for the last 20 years. This year’s cup win was a record 14th National Cup victory and made it three in a row for the club.
Paul Shires of Health365 says, “As we are based in Sheffield, we want to give something back to the local community, so linking up with the Hatters makes perfect sense.”
